9 Things Every Man Should Know How to Do

Even in the modern age, there are a few bedrock skills no gentleman should live without. These skills make him a fierce competitor, a worthy lover, a man of intellect and a man of action. They’re not easy to learn, but they’re well worth the effort. And over the past year, our experts have broken down exactly how to master them. See what we mean on the following pages, where you’ll find photos representing these essential abilities and underneath them, links to that expert advice. You’ll be a better man for it, we promise.

1. Shave your face

You need to shave with the grain in short strokes of no more than an inch or two.Close shave. Shave regularly to look your best. If you sport a beard or a moustache or a French beard, then make sure it is trimmed neatly and has no stray hairs sticking out in multiple directions. Also make sure that you shave in the same direction as the growth of the hair, and that you soften your facial hair before shaving it. This will ensure that there aren’t ingrowths and also reduce the possibilities of getting nicked while shaving.
2. Cook meat

If God did not intend for us to eat animals, then why did he make them out of meat?
Meat is the Man's first love :)

3. Appreciate whiskey

Whiskey, like a beautiful woman, demands appreciation. You gaze first, then it's time to drink.”“Some of us look for the Way in opium and some in God, some of us in whiskey and some in love. It is all the same Way and it leads nowhither.” “Love makes the world go round? Not at all. Whiskey makes it go round twice as fast.” “I know some who are constantly drunk on books as other men are drunk on whiskey.”

4. Buy a suit

Real men wear suits. The clothes doesn't make the man, the Man makes the clothes.
Young men are a country’s future fathers, husbands and leaders.
It only makes sense then that they should start dressing as such.
It may seem superficial, but the harsh reality is that a young man is judged by others within seconds of being noticed. The old saying that “you only get one chance to make a first impression” is true.
Take the time and effort to look your best and you’ll start on good footing – dressing down to what might be fashionable in your age group only creates barriers when you are looking to rise to the top.

5. Get a tattoo

Tattoos have their share of misunderstanding. From being banned in many work environments, to being deemed socially unacceptable in many parts of the world, their history and purpose vary based on the wearer. They are truly an individual piece of art.

6. Bench press

A FIT MAN CAN… BENCH-PRESS 1½ TIMES HIS BODY WEIGHT
Upper-body strength is important for more than bench-press bragging rights. Literally being able to throw your weight around-plus half that of the guy standing next to you-is the ultimate sign that you'll never have a problem hefting a load… or looking great in a tank top.

7. Find and read great writing

As you head out for the beach this summer, pack a book that’s packing some testosterone.

8. Road trip

Training yourself mentally will serve you far better than attempting to train yourself physically.“Go outside. Don’t tell anyone and don’t bring your phone. Start walking and keep walking until you no longer know the road like the palm of your hand, because we walk the same roads day in and day out, to the bus and back home and we cease to see. We walk in our sleep and teach our muscles to work without thinking and I dare you to walk where you have not yet walked and I dare you to notice. Don’t try to get anything out of it, because you won’t. Don’t try to make use of it, because you can’t. And that’s the point. Just walk, see, sit down if you like. And be. Just be, whatever you are with whatever you have, and realise that that is enough to be happy.
There’s a whole world out there, right outside your window. You’d be a fool to miss it.”

9. Grow a beard

“He that hath a beard is more than a youth, and he that hath no beard is less than a man. He that is more than a youth is not for me, and he that is less than a man, I am not for him.”Beards make a face look fuller and rounder
